The company has appointed Colin Toal as Chief Technology Officer, Pearl Chiu as Vice President, Operations and Eldar Curovic as Vice President, Product Management. Earlier this year, Chisel AI appointed Chris Laver as Chief Data Scientist.
“I’m thrilled to have Colin, Pearl, Eldar and Chris on board,” said Ron Glozman, CEO and founder of Chisel AI. “It’s one thing to have a brilliant idea, but you need the right people to bring it to life and make it real. Colin, Pearl, Eldar and Chris are dynamic technology industry veterans who will be instrumental in building and leading our team as we grow and execute on our mission to revolutionize the commercial insurance industry. We now have the strong bench needed to capitalize on the tremendous market opportunity for our AI-powered insurance solutions.”
Colin Toal is a deep technologist with an obsession for building great teams and great products that deliver great results for customers. Over his 20-year career, he has built products and teams at Amazon, IBM, Oracle, Siebel Systems, and most recently integrate.ai.
Before joining Chisel AI, Pearl Chiu was Chief People Officer at OneEleven where she worked with a community of more than 50 emerging tech startups to help them grow and scale their teams. Prior to OneEleven, Pearl held senior leadership roles at tech firms focused on the financial services and insurance markets.
For over 16 years, Eldar Curovic has been involved in all aspects of enterprise application development to deliver best-in-class business solutions for financial services and insurance markets. In the role of Vice President, Product Management at NexJ Systems, he was instrumental in the launch of new cloud-based CRM and Data Analytics software.

Prior to joining Chisel AI, Chris held the role of Distinguished Data Scientist in the technology division at one of the largest banks in the world where he was responsible for the strategy and design of a bleeding-edge AI portfolio.
The key additions to Chisel AI’s leadership team come on the heels of a tremendous string of achievements for the insurtech startup. Chisel AI was recently named as an IDC Innovator for Insurance Sales Automation Solutions and earned a place on the CIX Top 20 Early list of Canada’s Most Innovative Tech Companies. In January, the company was named the Gold Winner of the 2019 Zurich Innovation World Championship. Chisel AI is currently working with Zurich and other leading commercial insurance carriers and brokers to digitally transform cumbersome back-office underwriting and brokering processes.
Chisel AI’s purpose-built solution for commercial insurance carriers and brokers reads unstructured insurance data 400 times faster than a human – and with much greater accuracy. Our advanced AI platform and intelligent workflows fuel the automation of high volume, mundane underwriting and brokering processes, enabling insurers to double their business and optimize the customer experience without adding staff. Chisel won Gold at the 2019 Zurich Innovation World Championship and won the ACORD InsurTech Innovation Challenge in 2018.
