Blue Prism (AIM: PRSM), the pioneer and market leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and ABBYY®, a global leader in content intelligence solutions and services, today announced a strategic partnership to integrate ABBYY’s FlexiCapture solution with Blue Prism’s Digital Workforce – automating the process of turning unstructured content into structured, actionable data for enterprise users.
ABBYY’s FlexiCapture™ content intelligence solution makes it easy for enterprises to access, extract and validate data from disparate documents – including purchase orders, invoices, applications, bills of lading, and more – and use it within other business processes. The integration with Blue Prism’s Digital Workforce automates those processes at unprecedented speed – as well as giving enterprises better analysis of content for better performance, document process transparency, and contributing to improved customer experiences.
ABBYY also adds machine learning technologies that help Blue Prism’s Digital Workforce intelligently learn and improve over time – along with the added benefits of better operational agility and increasingly efficient processes.
With this integration Blue Prism customers can also take advantage of ABBYY FlexiCapture for Invoices – a business-ready invoice solution built on top of FlexiCapture that’s pre-built with all the business logic and learning capabilities required for processing invoices and automating the capture of invoice data. With FlexiCapture for Invoices, organizations can dramatically increase the productivity of accounts payable processes, while lowering costs.
“ABBYY and Blue Prism have been visionary leaders when it comes to intelligent capture and RPA technologies, and together we deliver very complementary solutions with the same goal of helping organizations become more innovative and efficient with their business processes,” said Jupp Stoepetie, Chief Marketing Officer at ABBYY. “As market leaders in our respective industries, we see incredible synergies and customer demand for working more closely together in offering the benefits of an integrated product offering.”
Both companies currently have several joint customers that now have the ability to:
- Easily automate and analyze content-centric processes involving images, documents, texts, and communications.
- Analyze and learn from content to make more informed decisions.
- Incorporate machine learning to perpetually improve and streamline business processes.
- Measure, sustain, and adapt digitized processes over time.
- Use cases include finance and accounting (invoices, purchase orders, sales orders); logistics (customs declarations, proof of delivery, bills of lading); financial services (mortgage lending, opening accounts, trade confirmation); and insurance (claims, policy administration, opening accounts).
Joint customers like Zurich, the largest insurance company in Switzerland, indicated that, “ABBYY’s ability to extract content and intelligence from documents is a great enabler to a successful RPA strategy,” according to Steve McFadden, business partner/consultant, enterprise transformation.
“ABBYY extracts meaning and value from unstructured data by making it searchable, converts it to a usable format, preps the content for processing and analytics – and then hands it over to a Blue Prism Digital Worker for processing,” said David Moss, Chief Technology Officer, Blue Prism. “ABBYY is globally recognized for its innovation in intelligent capture, and the combination of ABBYY technology and Blue Prism RPA offers enterprises a deeper dive into data extraction, using Intelligent Automation to handle complex and content-centric processes.”
RPA + Intelligent Capture: Access data, automate any content-centric process
ABBYY FlexiCapture focuses on the document, applying such Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies as optical character recognition (OCR), and machine learning technologies to identify and classify content and extract data – all while continuously learning from human input. ABBYY’s data extraction process includes support for recognizing machine print, hand print, barcodes, and checkmarks.
Blue Prism complements the workplace with an elastic, multi-faceted and multi-talented digital workforce, helping organizations automate and scale business processes via AI, machine learning, intelligent automation and sentiment analysis. This workforce eliminates vendor lock-in by providing access to best-of-breed AI technologies and Intelligent Automation skills through a Technology Alliance Program (TAP), helping transform how organizations use technology to achieve true operational agility.
