Video Annotation Tool Will Help Organizations Reduce Time and Cost of AI Data Preparation by at Least 50 Percent
Lifelong AI company Neurala announced that it has launched a new AI-assisted video annotation tool within its Brain Builder platform. Automated video annotation will significantly accelerate data preparation for neural networks, in turn helping organizations train and deploy AI faster.
Neurala’s Brain Builder is a SaaS platform that streamlines creation, deployment, analysis and management of deep learning applications. Its purpose-built, AI-powered annotation tools which now include video tagging help simplify the data preparation process and drastically reduce data tagging time.

Video annotation is the latest addition to Neurala’s Lifelong AI technology stack, with the tool learning iteratively as users tag any object of interest – whether that be people, defects, objects or the like – in a video. After a user labels any object of interest in the first frame, the video annotation tool uses Neurala’s Lifelong AI technology to automatically annotate that object in subsequent frames. For example, if five people entered into a frame, they would all be annotated automatically after a user tagged the first frame with just one person. This capability will enable significant time-savings compared to traditional video annotation methods, which would require each new person entering a frame to be tagged manually.
In addition to time savings, AI-assisted video annotation will increase productivity exponentially for any organization with video data available. For instance, users can annotate one frame of a 10 second video and get an output of 300 annotations, whereas with traditional annotation methods, users would need to manually tag 300 distinct images to get the same result.
