What if a dashcam can grant you some kind of driver assistance that the Teslas flaunt? Los Angeles-based idrive has come with an AI cam that can identify and interpret human behavior. It effortlessly generates critical data to improve driver performance which is a major concern for fleet operators.
For instance, the AI Cam can predict an accident, offer live video telematics, have facial recognition, seatbelt detection, distracted and drowsy driving detection and safe distance warning among other features. The accuracy in the aforementioned functions exceeds 90 percent and is fast improving. More features will be added to the cam in early 2020, the company said.
Octacore Processors Drive the Cams
The AI Cam can replace up to 10 transportation peripherals. Apart from High Definition Video, an OLED Display has been provided for in-cab alerts. An 8-core processor embedded with AI for advanced computing does the job for drivers. It can work well with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, and Cellular connections.
Iris in the Cloud Does the Magic
The events captured by the AI Cam are triggered by Artificial Intelligence, wired, manual and internal triggers. They are captured and uploaded to idrive’s intelligent Cloud-based management platform named Iris. The system offers a massive advantage to those who are into fleet management.
“With over 10 years in the industry we have gained the critical data and expertise to develop the cutting-edge technology needed for the AI Cam. We have been developing this camera for a little over 2 years now and we are very eager to share it with the market,” stated Florin Pasol, CTO of idrive.
idrive is a leader in Telematics and Artificial Intelligence-based services for the transportation industry. It flaunts the world’s biggest repositories of labeled and verified video data. Its system is enhanced by over 11 billion miles of driving data, deep learning and industry insights.
